Tax season is here, and if you’ve ever wondered what a day in the life of someone juggling deadlines, workouts, and family time looks like, here's a peek at my daily routine. It's a balancing act, but somehow, it all gets done.

5:30 AM: Rise and Shine for F45 Checkmate

The day kicks off early—my alarm goes off at 5:30 am, and it’s time to get up and get moving. I’m out the door by 5:45 am for my 6:00 am F45 class. Today’s workout was Checkmate—a high-intensity cardio session that gets my heart racing and clears my mind. It’s tough, but I’ve learned that starting the day with a workout gives me the energy and focus I need to power through everything ahead. The sense of accomplishment I feel after finishing AMRRAP workouts with bonus burpees sets the tone for the rest of my day.

7:00 AM: Packing Hunter’s Lunch & Getting Ready for the Day

After the workout, I head home to pack my child's school lunch. It’s a simple but essential part of my morning—making sure he’s got a healthy lunch with sandwiches, fruit, and snacks that will fuel him for the day. As much as I’m caught up in the whirlwind of tax season, I always make time for the little things like this. They help me stay grounded and remind me that life outside of work is just as important.

8:00 AM: Diving Into the Workday

By the time I sit down at my desk, it’s time to dive straight into the tax grind. Reviewing client documents, crunching numbers, and preparing returns is all part of the drill. Answering emails and returning phoen calls are also part of the morning routine. The deadline is always looming, but breaking the work down into manageable tasks helps me keep my head above water. Plus, the clarity from my workout makes it easier to stay focused and tackle the day head-on.

Lunch Break: Quick Recharge

Even during the busiest days, I make sure to take a small break. Whether it's grabbing a quick bite or stepping outside for a walk, it’s essential to recharge for the second half of the day. A few minutes away from the screen can make all the difference when you're grinding through tax returns.

Afternoon: Wrapping Up Work & Family Time

As the afternoon rolls in, it’s time to wrap up the day’s work around 6pm. The clock is ticking, but I know that my supportive spouse is there to help keep everything in balance. They handle the kids’ busy schedules—whether it’s picking Hunter up from school, driving him to activities, or helping with homework—so I can stay focused on the work that needs to get done. Having that support at home makes all the difference, especially during tax season. It allows me to give 100% to my clients while also being present for my family.

Evening: Downtime Before the Next Day

Once the workday is wrapped up and the family is settled in, it’s time to unwind. Whether it’s stretching, taking a walk, or simply having some quiet time, I always carve out a few minutes to relax before I head to bed. The hustle of tax season can be draining, but these moments of downtime help me recharge for another busy day ahead.

So, ever wonder what a busy season schedule looks like? It’s a mix of early mornings, intense workouts, client deadlines, family moments, and leaning on a supportive partner to help handle the kids' busy routines. It’s a lot, but with the right balance, you can handle it all—tax season included!
